I’ve heard this song several times on my Pandora station and I highlighted it, especially the lyrics, because of the last two lines of the first verse.
“If this was meant for me, why does it hurt so much? And if you’re not made for me, why did we fall in love?”
In the follow up to #WheelerNovel, the cycling season is winding down and Loren begins to do battle with her inner demons. What she doesn’t expect is to face doubt and heartache in the relationships that she has leaned on for support.
I go back to the melancholy feel of the melody but also the lyrics. It’s difficult to write about relationships going pear-shaped, for me anyway. I have to feel the emotions of the characters in order to write about it and I have a damn good imagination.
